The EF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS is Canon's latest zoom lens for APS-C format DSLRs, introduced as a companion to the EOS 50D. Its announcement is unlikely to come as a surprise to many, as rumours of its imminent introduction have been circulating on the web for weeks, but it will still please Canon owners in search of an all-in-one lens ideally suited to travel and everyday shooting. With its 11x zoom range, this lens is Canon's most ambitious consumer-level zoom to date; the company has previously shied away from producing relatively inexpensive superzooms, with its only previous foray into this sector being the 28-200mm F3.5-5.6 (USM) for 35mm, which was introduced in late 2000. Indeed it's this older lens which the 18-200mm most strongly resembles, however Canon have managed to squeeze plenty more into the design in the intervening eight years. The zoom range has been stretched to a 35mm-equivalent range of 29-320mm, and the new lens incorporates Canon's latest compact image stabilization unit (as seen on the EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS and the EF-S 55-250mm F4.5-5.6 IS), which offers automatic panning detection and (according to the company) four stops of stabilization.
One design decision may however cause a degree of dismay; the lens uses a relatively unsophisticated micro motor system for autofocus, as opposed to the ring-type USM design more commonly seen on mid-range lenses such as the EF-S 17-85mm F3.5-5.6 IS USM. Consequently, potential buyers may struggle to find any obvious advantage over Tamron's recently announced 18-270mm F3.5-6.3Di II VC LD Aspherical (IF) Macro, which sports a longer zoom range and Tamron's own optical stabilization system. Aside from this, Canon have produced a lens which is clearly designed to counter the undeniable buyer appeal of Nikon's popular AF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 VR head-on. So let's take a closer look at the new lens's design.

Pre-Photokina2008: No surprises to hear that Canon has launched the much anticipated EOS 50D, an upgraded version of EOS 40D. On the surface it looks almost similar to its predecessor. However, there are quite a few significant improvements; fifteen megapixel CMOS sensor, faster DIGIC 4 processor, 3.0" VGA LCD monitor with Live View mode offering 3 AF modes, ISO sensitivity expandable to 12800 and an HDMI connection for high Quality Image viewing. Nikon launches D90, NIKKOR 18105MM VR lens | Nikon D90發表，第一台可錄影的數位單眼誕生
謠言傳了許久，終於，Nikon發表了D90，基本上規格與之前所傳差不多。其中最引人注目的，就是具備錄影能力。此外，D90將於9月19日發售，並且有三種Kit鏡組合：

三、D90 AF-S DX VR 18-200G

sony release PSP3000 on October | 索尼10月將發布PSP3000遊戲機 可充當手機使用
索尼周四宣布，將在10月份發布PSP300遊戲機，它具有高清晰度屏幕，內置麥克風，可當手機使用。
PSP3000將在日本，亞洲，北美及歐洲上市，其基本設計與目前的PSP2000遊戲機相同，有黑、白、銀三種外觀顏色。
通過Skype服務，PSP300可以打電話。
新版PSP在北美地區售價定為199.99美元，在歐洲的售價是199歐元。亞洲地區的售價尚未公布。
索尼計劃在2009年3月的財政年度中售出1500萬臺PSP。
索尼電腦娛樂公司的女發言人Yoko Sakaki說：“遊戲機的需求量仍然很高，尤其是在美國。”
索尼還宣布，將發布無線鍵盤。另外，索尼將發布160GB硬盤的PS3遊戲機，在歐洲的上市日期是10月31日，價格為449歐元，包括價值70歐元的遊戲下載信用。
8月底，索尼將開始銷售80GB的PS3遊戲機，價格是399美元。

kingston's 32GB class4 SDHC card | 挑戰容量極限 金士頓推出32GB的SDHC卡
覺得SDHC卡的容量不夠用？直接上極限容量32GB吧。目前，金士頓推出了一款容量高達32GB的SDHC卡，該卡屬於Class 4等級，符合SD協會制定的SD2.0規格，號稱傳輸速度不低於4MB/s，可以流暢的播放高清視頻，適用於所有支持SDHC的數碼產品或讀卡器。該SDHC卡預計售價為29800日元（折合人民幣約1860元），將於本月18日上市。
雖然32GB容量足夠大足夠你揮霍，但是令人擔憂的是，如果哪天放在裏面的重要文件讀不出來，麻煩就大了，這可是32GB的卡啊，報廢了會很心疼的。所以說嘛，容量大固然是好事，但是壞的時候風險就加倍了。

lenovo's heavy pad | 聯想發表大塊頭的ThinkPad W700
現在筆電當桌機用已經不是什麼稀奇事，聯想發表了一款W700，也是一款很強悍的桌機，當然，價格與重量也很「強悍」，Annti先來條列W700的特色與規格：
處理器：Intel Quad Core Extreme CPU，時脈3GHz
尺寸：17吋，WUXGA，也就是1900 × 1200解析度，亮度400nit
記憶體：吃DDR3，最大可到8GB
硬碟：可吃兩顆並且能RAID 0或1
顯示卡：NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700，1GB顯示記憶體
無線：Intel PRO/Wireless 5100a/b/g/n、藍牙
作業系統：Windows Vista（並未說明是哪個版本）

如何避開ip封鎖，國外看奧運
用過ppstream，pplive的人都知道，其實，他們是有中央電視臺的，只不過他們只對大陸的ip地址開放。奧運要到了，那要想看看中文轉播怎麽辦？pierrewe提供了一個好辦法，我在這裏做個介紹一個簡單的貼圖教程，讓大家都能輕松使用ppstream看cctv奧運頻道。
首先，去找個叫“統一軟件”的軟件，他有10天的試用期。基本的作用就是可以變更你的ip地址。可以從這裏下載，此版本為免安裝版。解壓後，註冊一個用戶名，然後登陸即可。在本地ip處可看到你現在的ip地址，如果你想改成中國大陸的地址，可以在“服務器中轉模式”前打勾，你會發現你的ip已經變更為大陸的ip地址了。
然後，打開ppstream，點擊想看的奧運頻道，開始緩沖。在緩沖開始後，可以取消“服務器中轉模式”以加快速度（個人感覺有加快）。其實，在看電視時也可以短暫的斷開，不過不能太久，不然，ppstream會顯示不在服務區並停掉信號。
最後，看電視咯！

Nikon Q1 down on firmer yen, slow chip gear demand
TOKYO — Japanese precision equipment maker Nikon Corp. said on Wednesday (Aug. 6) its quarterly profit fell 20.5 percent, dragged down by a strong yen and sluggish demand for chip-making equipment, and it kept its annual outlook below market consensus.
Nikon, the world's No.5 digital camera maker, posted an operating profit of 28.72 billion yen ($265.1 million) for April-June, down from 36.13 billion yen in the same period last year.
For the year started in April, Nikon kept its outlook for a 3.8 percent fall in operating profit to 130 billion yen while 18 analysts polled by Reuters Estimates predict on average 138 billion yen.
Nikon, which launched its new D700 digital single lens reflex camera last month, is fighting for share against rival Canon Inc even as fears of a global economic slowdown threaten to dampen consumer appetite for pricey cameras.
Nikon is also the world's No.2 maker of chip steppers, and faces tough competition from Netherlands-based ASML which is making inroads in the Japan market for the complex machines used to print circuitry on silicon wafers.
Shares of Nikon have gained 10 percent since the start of the business year in April to Tuesday, compared with rival Canon's 5.7 percent rise and a 3.4 percent rise in the Tokyo stock market's electrical machinery subindex IELEC.

Lenovo Enters Ultra Portable Market with S10
Lenovo is going to enter the ultra mobile PC (UMPC) market with its S10 Eee PC Competitor. With Dell recently announcing its mini Inspiron series, Lenovo's entry adds competition to a market that is dominated by the Eee PC.
The S10 will feature Intel's newest Atom processor, a 10 inch LED screen, with Linux or Windows XP. The 512 MB of RAM will cost $400 with an 80 GB hard drive while the 1 GB of RAM and 160 GB hard drive will go for $450. Black, white, and red color options are available.
According to Gizmodo, the full specs are:
